Enjoy your life, Now

“Aren’t there plenty of subjects to focus upon that make you feel good? In other words, isn’t there just so much to focus upon that brings you immediately into alignment with who you really are? Let’s say you have ten things that you are working on and nine of them have already come about, couldn’t you just celebrate those nine while number ten’s coming into place? You have to celebrate what’s working.” Abraham

Are you appreciating your life, as it is, now? Or are you waiting until you get the dream job, or meet your soulmate, or get the sports car or the big house or your ideal body. There is so much good currently in your life that will make you feel incredible when you appreciate it. And this is also a key to getting those things that you want. But I meet many people studying the Law of Attraction who misunderstand, thinking that if they love where they are, then Life will think they want to stay exactly where they are. This is not the way it works.

Be grateful of what you do have, and you will find that it increases. I like to bless with love all that is in my life right now- my home, the heat, water, light, telephone, furniture, plumbing, appliances, clothing, transportation, jobs- the money I do have, friends, my ability to see and feel and taste and touch and walk and enjoy this incredible planet.” Louise L. Hay

Oprah Winfrey began writing down a list of everything good that had happened to her at the end of every day years before she found huge success. She made this a daily habit, and explains: “What you focus on expands, and when you focus on the goodness in your life, you create more of it. Opportunities, relationships, even money flowed my way when I learned to be grateful no matter what happened in my life”.

Trusting Life

Do you trust that Life ‘has your back’, so you can relax into appreciation without wondering who is going to ‘make it happen’? Trusting Life means trusting that manifestation is not your job; it is the job of the Universe or of God (or whatever word appeals to you to describe the Source). Trusting Life also means trusting the people around you to be who they are; it means basking into the knowing that everything is on your side and everything is working out for you, no matter how things may appear.

Trusting life is the opposite of control and it means taking it easier, making peace with where you are and being light-hearted about things. It means trusting that everything that is happening to you is supposed to be happening. It’s all for you and it’s all a blessing.

Doing a regular process to ‘practice-in’ a habit of appreciation is a life-changing decision that I see creating miracles in so many people’s lives in the groups and workshops I facilitate. Everybody knows that being an optimistic person is a good idea, but do we practice this regularly or do we just think ‘what a nice suggestion’ and then go back to complaining?

Accepting where you are

Of course we don’t always feel like appreciating our lives. And in those moments, it is best to embrace where you are and try to relax into it. Repeating soothing statements like Louise Hay’s suggestion below can distract you and get you out of the way allowing the Universe to bring in a solution:

“When a problem comes up, one of the best things to say is: All is well, everything is working out for my highest good and out of this situation only good will come and I am safe”. Louise L. Hay

Creating your reality can be a confusing term. Your perfect reality has already been created for you- and waits for you to become a match to it. Your only ‘work’ is to allow yourself into that reality. One of the best ways I know to get in there is through a deliberate effort to focus on what you like about your life, right here and right now.
